Here is unique way to use googlespreadsheets and live data
Click here http://screencast.com/t/i3ppLUliQ to view in a larger window outside the blog

Try a jing recording and explore some of the google lookup functions!
Google Presentations, docs and spreadsheets create a url and embedded code that can be dropped into a blog, wiki (or SharePoint) for instruction.

I played with Jing yesterday, to test out recording some of the way I had introduced the tools in MS Paint to the students last year. Didn't have a microphone connected at the time, but I thought it was great to be able to show so much of the screen up close (much better than the little video I'd had my daughter take of me doing something similar last week). I'm excited to use more of it!

I just watched the googlespreadsheet demo and all I can say is "WOW"! It's really amazing that it's possible to do all this...now I know I've got to spend some more time getting to know more about google docs, etc. Thanks for sharing, Mary!

Mary thanks so much for showing me the cool mashups that are possible to do within GoogleDocs... I had no idea that functionality was built in there eventhough I've been using GoogleDocs for 2+ years now! I also really like Jing and created one for my teachers who couldn't make it to a LunchNLearn that I hosted today - I sized the embed code down to 600x400 so that it would fit into the blog better. Hi Nicole,
So nice to hear from you and continue to see samples of your work. Your jing looks good and it provides a custom view of using School World for your teachers.
I saw several of your MESPA colleagues as MassCUE yesterday and they all indicated they are watching the class blog/wiki and trying out many of the tools we are covering in class. I was pleased to see so many of you continue to work with Web 2.0 tools and sitll suscribe to the class sites. Thanks for joining in and sharing! Mary

Great tip Mary! Thanks! I created a quick Jing video for my elementary teachers to introduce a new feature of our school website. My boss saw it and was so excited she is going to demonstarte Jing to the technology team on our next half day!

I tried the Google Spreadsheet piece but had missed the Ctrl-drag before watching your Jing - so now I can actually get results! I'm still trying to figure out the presidential order - it's not chronological - but I haven't figured out what it is either.

I attended your session at CMTC, but missed the ctrl drag for the auto fill- so happy to have found your blog and twittered the link to your jing for all

It's a fantastic feature, for sure and you did a great job with the jing. But it's not all presidents, either...Ben Franklin is there. Odd!
